My Story

Lead, Talent Management Strategy Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM); Payten is a seasoned human resources leader with extensive experience in talent management, organizational development, and leadership coaching. Currently serving as the Lead for Talent Management Strategy at the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), she designs and implements global talent strategies and leadership development initiatives. With a strong background as an independent Human Capital consultant, Payten has supported businesses ranging from small to enterprise organizations in transforming their HR processes, including talent acquisition and cultural

transformation. Previously, as Director of Human Resources at a management consulting firm, she led HR functions through significant organizational growth from 18 to over 200 employees. Payten's educational background includes a graduate degree in Organizational Leadership and Learning from George Washington University, a Bachelor's in Law & Society from American University, and a certificate in Advanced Leadership Studies from American University. Payten held a number of leadership positions elected and appointed during her time in the Junior State of America and made many lifelong friends & mentors. Payten has a deep commitment to fostering inclusive, high-performing cultures. She hopes to leverage her expertise in leadership development and change management to contribute valuable insights to CLA's mission and development.
