
My Story
Project Officer, Food Security New Jersey Economic Development Authority; Ty Blitstein has worked in civics and government at the local, state, national, and international levels. He is currently the Project Officer for Food Security at the New Jersey Economic Development Authority. As part of a team led by New Jersey’s inaugural Chief Economic Security Officer, Ty helps design, implement, and manage statewide food access policy and programs, with a focus on cross-sector collaborations and equitable community development. Previously, Ty worked at the U. S. Department of Commerce, the New Jersey Attorney General’s Office, and a Parisian urban planning agency through the French Embassy’s City/Cité Cultural and Professional Exchange Program. Beyond Civic Leaders of America, Ty serves on the Board of Directors of the Friends of the Monmouth County Library. He is a past Student Advisory Council member at the Jonathan M. Tisch College of Civic Life and a Board Member at the Tufts Experimental College, where he also co-taught a class on student journalism. He is a graduate of Tufts University.
